We’re happy that you have found one of our gifts.  It’s precisely that—a gift to you, no strings attached.  We simply hope that your day is brighter because of our crossing paths with you in this way.  If you’d like, you may find the picture of your gift on this blog (published within 24hrs of the gift “plant”) and write a line or two in the comments section (there or on this page) about your experience.  Enjoy the gift.  Use it however you want (spend it, re-gift some of it, save it).  Please know that your reception of it is a blessing for us as well.

What a nice surprise, on October 22! I was walking by the statue in front of the Vancouver School Board, and saw something glitter.
What a lovely idea, you’ve renewed my faith in the goodness in people.
I will be passing this on intact, to someone less fortunate than I.
    Thank you,
    Vicki

My family has been living in Vancouver for about a year now. We are trying not to let the rain affect us so in an act of adventure, we jumped on the fairy and headed to Bowen Island on Sunday-a super rainy day. We walked all around and enjoyed such a beautiful hike. We made it to the fish ladder and took a moment to admire everything. Looking up, I spotted the bag of coins. When I read the card I started shouting “It’s for me!” My whole family was overjoyed and I gave some loonies to each of them. What a great lesson this was for my children-and what a great reward for venturing out in the rain. Your generosity has made a great impact with us and I have been sharing our experience with everyone.
    Have a blessed day!

Hi! I found the gift you left at the Graneville St. Bridge bus stop. I am new to Vancouver and it’s my first time living in a city this large. I’ve been thinking that the people I see everyday on the bus, or on the street seem so disconnected from each other. I got the idea that people just need some sort of outreach to show them that other people in the world care about them, despite not ever knowing them. I find it funny that I was thinking about this when I found your gift. I want to say thank you and let you know the gift is appreciated, but even more so is the knowledge that people like you and your family exist.

    • Hi Mark—thanks so much for your comments. We don’t believe in coincidences and are so thankful that you found the gift. Welcome to Vancouver! You will love it here and we are blessed to have you in our city :)

Just went to the dog beach where I used to take my belated dog to swim. Such a cool gift, thank you so much, my wife and I are ready to get a new dog and will give this to the shelter so they can help more dogs!

    • Most welcome Jay. Thank-you for your comments, story and desire to help the shelter. We’re sure you loved your dog and miss him/her greatly. That dog beach is a great place isn’t it? All the best to you and your wife as you prepare to bring home another happy companion.

    Hey,

spotted a baggie with loonies and a pretty blue ribbon on the rocks at false creek during a walk with a friend!

So cool…thanks! Just when my car was being worked on:)
    Jan

    • You’re welcome Jan. Hope you had a nice walk along the beautiful seawall and that the repair bill wasn’t too high for your car (ouch). Thanks for sharing a bit of your story from yesterday.

I found a green envelope on the drive this morning. It was a very pleasant surprise and a wonderful idea. I often give money to those on the street and I plan to give this money to someone in need (envelope and all). Thank you for spreading kindness, no act of kindness goes unnoticed. Cheers to you.

    • That is wonderful Nika. Cheers to you as well! We’re all kindred souls–in need of giving and receiving compassion. Spreading kindness in the manner you suggested is very touching. Thanks for your note.
